Most Popular FAQs

We answer some of the most common questions we hear over here.

How does the process work?

When we kick off the project, we send you the timeline and requirements. We work together according to the agreed upon timeline.

We have regular check-ins to gather feedback from you as we go along designing, refining and editing your site.

Do you provide technical support and maintenance?

Yes. We provide technical support and maintenance services on request. If you host your website with us, service and maintenance is included in the package.

Who owns my website, me or you?

You will own your website and we will make sure of that!

After the site is live you will be provided with your vault which will contain all the information you need to take it forward, now and always.

How long does it take to create a website?

That depends entirely on what exactly you are looking for (a one-page site or a multi-page site), the platform (WordPress, Wix, Shopify, woo-commerce), and the kinds of features you need.

Very complex sites can take as long as 6 months and very simple sites can take as little as two weeks. We don't usually recommend rushing through something like a website. Your online presence is something that requires creativity, attention to detail, and technical skill to bring about. There are hundreds of decisions and tasks involved. Although the end product might seem simple, the process is complex. If you are looking for a rush job, we are not the right choice. We do not believe in sub-standard work and rushing through a website will never yield results that we are happy with.

Would my business benefit from digital marketing?

Definitely. Though companies in many business categories continue to approach digital marketing with skepticism, avoiding digital marketing denies your business access to the media the majority of consumers turn to first and at all hours of the day.

What would be required of me if we work together?

No one knows your business, your competitors, your clients, your industry and the dream that lies at the heart of your company as well as you do. Therefore, to truly do good work, we need to collaborate closely with you whether it is a website that we design for you or a full scale marketing plan that we are implementing.

So, you may ask, if you are required to allocate so much time and effort, then what precisely is it that we do?  If you had to take a behind-the-scenes look at any of the work we do, you would see that what seems like simple tasks from an outside perspective usually involves multiple team members and often hundreds of decisions. A website is the result of thousands of actions and decisions. A good analogy is that when you sit at a restaurant and enjoy a peaceful meal, you are not privy to everything that went into the creation of that meal—the purchasing and preparation of the ingredients, the hiring of the chef, the cleaning of the kitchen, the decor of the restaurant, the admin. Similarly, the end product—a website or a social media calendar—when well done, will seem simple, beautiful and functional. But everything in this world that seems simple, beautiful and functional is the result of hard work and attention to detail.

If you are ready to pay attention to your digital presence and you understand that it will take effort, even on your part to get it done right then we are happy to work with you towards that end goal. If you are not quite ready to devote several hours a week to this then we suggest that you wait until you can do it to avoid stress and frustration.

What if I am not happy with the design?

We are assuming that you are choosing us because you have seen the work that we do and you are confident that we can create beautiful, functional, quality work for you. We have many steps along the way to determine the design direction starting with research and our Discovery process. We are usually able to achieve design direction within the first three design passes. If we are not able to, then that might be a sign that we are not the right fit for you and we need to talk about a refund. We are interested in delivering results that you are happy with. We never want to hold a client hostage. You as the client are required to stay involved and give your input while at the same time trusting our expertise. Just like you would not go to a restaurant and micro-manage the chef, we appreciate your trust and confidence in our expertise and work hard to deliver work of the highest quality.

What does a typical timeline look like?

Most projects follow a timeline that is roughly as follows:

  • Initial chat to discover what you are looking for and for you to get to know us and for both of us to see if there's a fit between what you need and what we can provide.
  • Scope-of-work meeting where we discuss exactly what you need
  • Proposal and estimate
  • Agreement meeting (agreeing on final cost, milestones, and timeline)
  • Discovery process where we start the process in earnest as we research your competitors and refine your brand.
  • Design Direction (achieved when homepage conceptualization and design is complete - typically 3 design passes)
  • Site build-out of other pages (typically 3 - 4 design passes)
  • Coding
  • Content addition
  • Running pre go live checklists
  • Make site live
  • Running post go live checklists
  • Final walk-through
  • Training

Why are digital marketing services useful for my business?

Digital Marketing Services allow companies to interact with target audiences in real-time. Online marketing services are relatively affordable with unlimited reach when compared to traditional advertising channels.

How much do you charge?

It's impossible to tell you before we know exactly what you require. One thing we believe is to keep the good karma flowing by always providing value for money and not over-charging our clients. We want everyone to feel satisfied that the process and the finances and the end result is a fair exchange of expertise and service for money.

Will a project manager be assigned to me as a contact person?

Yes. You will be working with one person who serves as the contact point and who manages the work with our team which includes the graphic designer, the content creator, the developer and the SEO expert. If you decide to sign up for one of our online marketing packages, you will be assigned a project manager too who you will have regular meetings with.

Is email marketing still effective?

Definitely! You should never assume that because social media has become so hugely popular or that it’s enough to solely focus your digital marketing strategy on social platforms. There are more active email accounts than active accounts on any social media in the world. Email marketing is more private and often feels more personal to the consumer. Most people are consistently tuned into their email, checking it multiple times a day and constantly seeing notifications appear on their mobiles, laptops and tablets.

Do I need a Blog?

Blogs give you an easy way to stay in front of your target market. Publishing to blogs allows you to exercise your voice on industry topics and also post How-To content to help solve problems. While not required on your website, blogs are a great idea. Keeping a blog updated is also a signal to the search engines that your website is fresh and worth keeping an eye on.

Is Pay Per Click (PPC) right for my business?

Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising works for almost every industry or business sector. By using PPC ads with targeted keywords, you will get in front of customers who are looking for exactly what you provide

Why would I pay for search engine marketing?

Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising is an effective way of driving traffic to your website instantly. Organic search can take some time and is a longer-term search strategy, so if you want to start generating more website traffic and leads quickly, then paying for a search engine advert through PPC is the best way to achieve this.

What paid advertising options do I have?

There are many different paid advertising options, depending on your business objectives. We can set up and manage traditional keyword campaigns on search networks, banner advertising campaigns on display networks, eCommerce advertising campaigns on shopping platforms or video advertising campaigns on Youtube and other video websites.

Do you automate campaign performance?

No! Our PPC Strategists monitor your account daily because PPC pricing fluctuates very often. If a PPC campaign is left running in “set it and forget it” mode on automated software, your return on investment will be at risk.

How can I measure the ROI of my PPC campaign?

Your Return On Investment (ROI) can be measured by the metrics we set out to track at the beginning of the campaign. If you are an eCommerce retailer, it is quite easy to analyse the advertising spend versus the revenue achieved through PPC to calculate your ROI. We can also report on different other metrics such as sign-ups, calls, downloads etc against the amount spent on advertising to work out your cost per action, giving a better understanding of your ROI.

What is content marketing?

Content marketing is the creation and distribution of educational and/or entertaining information assets for the purpose of generating brand awareness, traffic, leads and sales. Marketing content is generally free and does not explicitly promote your brand as an ad would.

What's involved in creating a content marketing strategy?

A content marketing strategy is a plan for building an audience. Elements of content marketing strategy include establishing objectives, audience personas, a value proposition, content marketing mission statement, a buyer journey map, and plans for creating, promoting and analyzing how content marketing assets and programs perform.

What is SEO?

SEO is the process of ensuring that not only are you signalling the search engines to let them know what is on your site, but that you are relevant and worth sending visitors to. The output of this process is increasing the number of visitors to your site from organic search.

But my site is accessible - my SEO is done.

Although most SEOs will agree that making your site accessible is only about 10% of the work in SEO, they will also tell you that without the foundations in place, you won't get anywhere with your efforts.

Is SEO is just about search engines?

No, it is much more than that. It also focuses on user experience and the usability of a website. If your site is not user-friendly or difficult to navigate, your potential customers will not stay long enough to convert. If your visitors bounce quickly and often, the search engines will stop showing your site in results as the search engines will see the bounces as a vote of no confidence from users.
